While most conventional build-up liquids rely on a cocktail of chemical additives, such as long-chained alcohols (diols) and thickening agents like hydroxyethyl cellulose, to improve viscosity, these compounds are prone to demixing when exposed to temperature fluctuations during storage. This can negatively impact handling, cause porosities, and even lead to greying of fired ceramics due to carbon residue. The new eLAB ceramic fluid takes a different approach. It uses nanoparticle technology to deliver consistent viscosity, stable colour outcomes, and excellent handling, without the need for unnecessary additives.
