About

Sascha Hein is a colour scientist and the inventor of eLAB, a digital workflow that helps clinicians and technicians achieve reliable, repeatable shade matching. With a background spanning dental technology and computational colour science, his work focuses on translating rigorous colour theory into practical tools for everyday restorative dentistry.

The eLAB system is deeply rooted in science and has been widely studied in the dental literature. Since its launch, eLAB has reshaped how tooth colour is recorded, communicated, and reproduced. By standardising imaging and measurement, it has brought instrumental colour assessment back to the forefront, improving visual–instrument agreement, reducing remakes, and setting a new benchmark for predictable aesthetic outcomes.
